CREATIVE WRITING

  • In this course, we will be working on writing creative fiction works. The focus will be short narrative works and small portions of larger works. There will be in-class writing assignments in nearly every class, but these will be directed by creative prompts. We will be using the workbook Steering the Craft, by Ursula Le Guin, and discussing another work, The Writing Life, from author Annie Dillard. We will also discuss some creative non-fiction works as well.

  • There are no pre-requisites to taking this class.

  • This class is worth 1/2 of an English Credit. Parents are responsible for managing the transcript for their student.  The teacher will communicate the end-of-course grade within 2 weeks of the final class date.

  • See below for required textbooks and materials.
